Valencia prepares for the IoT Blockchain Camp 2018

The city of Valencia (Spain) is preparing to hold the first International Meeting on IoT and Blockchain technology in Spain (IOT-Blockchain Camp 2018), during 5 intensive days, from April 11 to 15.

The IOT-Blockchain camp is an open initiative designed to explore the potential of the Internet of Things (IOT) connected to decentralized registration systems (Blockchain), combining technical seminars where technology will be learned and a 48-hour hackathon where it will be applied in the real challenges of the industry.

With more than 70 participants from all over the world, focused on Information Technology, electronics and commercial backgrounds, 5 topics will be treated mainly:

  • Smart cities
  • Energy
  • Tourism
  • Transport
  • Health and sport

While waiting for confirmation from the organization, representatives and industry leaders, experts in IoT technology and Blockchain, such as Marloes Pomp of the Blockchain Dutch Government, will attend the event.

Highlight that there will be free events during the afternoons that the camp lasts, for all those who are interested in learning and having a good time, all of them and, like the presentations, will be in English for the character and international impact.

Also highlighting large sponsors such as Helvetia Fintech, a Swiss firm that helps blockchain startups operate worldwide in accordance with Swiss laws and regulations, Ambrosus, a Swiss project that uses IoT and Blockchain technology to transform the way in which the supply chain of operations is supporting the event, in addition to TalenHackers and Blockchain for Humanity, together with the support of avalBit, the Association of Bitcoin and other technologies of locally recognized character internationally.

The technical team confirmed this week that they have deployed an Ethereum node and an IOTA node in the local network that can be used during the Hackathon.
