CryptoNight, first cryptocurrency ATM in Chile

CryptoNight is a new end-of-year event concept that brings together the Chilean community of cryptocurrencies in four thematic talks, together with the announcement of something new or innovative. On this occasion, we will present the first cryptocurrency ATM in Chile.

This event, which will be held on December 13 in Providencia, Chile, is organized by the Bitcoin Chile Association, a non-profit NGO, and the collection of funds from this activity will go to the Association itself to continue its work of education and dissemination.

As speakers, you will attend:

Martin Hagelstrom

Argentine living in Chile for 9 years. More than 15 years working in consulting, responsible for blockchain for IBM SSA. Bitcoiner and regularly write articles in Coindesk.

Antonio Doménico Vedilei

Accountant Auditor, entrepreneur, miner and Venezuelan trader. Since young amateur technology. Started in the world of cryptocurrencies in 2016 with mining and trading. Today with vast experience and focused on personalized advice and support in cryptocurrency mining.

Joaquín Simonetti

Law student of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso and member of the Bitcoin Chile Association. Author of the first thesis in addressing the legal nature of cryptocurrencies, publishing the first Latin American-level report to deepen the topic.

Nicolás López

Software developer, founder of Orionsoft, after having created dozens of open source projects with more than 200,000 users and has worked with companies such as LATAM, BHP, Consorcio and Weeshing. When investigating the cryptocurrency market, he found a technological and tariff opportunity in Latin America and created Orionx, a more advanced platform with more cryptocurrencies.

Miguel Klagges

An entrepreneur with a degree in commercial engineering, he is President of the Bitcoin Chile Association and leader of the Chilean cryptocurrency community “Bitcoin Chile” since 2013. He has participated in several seminars on Bitcoin, both as an exhibitor and as an organizer.

7:00 PM – 7:30 PM Blockchain: opportunities and practical applications

What is a blockchain? How do they work and what are their advantages over traditional technologies? Open and private blockchain differences. Your main use cases.

7:30 PM – 8:00 PM Cryptocurrency Mining

In order to understand what is and how the cryptocurrency mining works, we will explain what is the function of the miner in the blockchain, reviewing the different mining algorithms and options there are. Fundamental concepts such as proof of work/stake, the difficulty of mining and rewards will be reviewed. The exhibition concludes by solving the question: is it profitable to mine or not?

8:00 PM – 8:30 PM Concept and legal nature of the Cryptocurrencies

This paper results in an introduction to the analysis of the phenomenon of cryptocurrencies from the perspective of the social sciences, specifically from the legal point of view. First, we will talk about the difference between the abstraction that is money and the means of representation of it. Then, we will analyze the relevant concepts for the compression of the current monetary structure. Later the concept of Cryptocurrency will be formulated and explained, having a firm starting point in its study. Finally, the issue of the legal nature of cryptocurrencies will be addressed.

Introduction to trading concepts, types of orders, charts and how transactions are made.

9:00 PM – 9:30 PM Inauguration of the first automatic cryptocurrency ATM in Chile

Opening ceremony with words by Miguel Klagges. Several prizes will be raffled among attendees, including a Trezor wallet and the possibility of being the first person to use the ATM.
